Cash M Company buys solid gold items with a purity of at least 8 karats, including jewellery, bars, coins and scrap gold. Examples include rings, chains, pendants, bangles, bracelets, and gold teeth or grills. We assess each item before making an offer.
Yes. We accept broken, damaged and unstamped gold items if testing confirms a purity of at least 8 karats. A missing stamp does not automatically mean an item is not gold: applying a precious-metal quality mark is not mandatory in Canada. Source for marking requirements: Competition Bureau.
No. Cash M Company does not buy gold-plated or gold-filled items. We accept solid gold of at least 8 karats. Here, “solid gold” includes gold alloys such as 10K, 14K and 18K; it does not mean an item must be pure 24K gold.
Your offer depends on the item, its purity and weight, and current market conditions. We need to see, test and weigh your gold in-store before confirming the final price. An online estimate cannot replace an assessment of the actual items.
Karat measures gold purity on a scale of 24. Based on that scale, 8K is approximately 33.3% gold, 10K is 41.7%, 14K is 58.3%, 18K is 75%, and 22K is 91.7%. Higher-karat gold contains more pure gold per gram. Source: Royal Canadian Mint.
